I found this on the AFB message board:
Q: Is it possible for a blind person to tell the exact time on a Braille watch?

I actually became a member because I wanted to respond to this message specifically.I have had a braille watch for 24 years and can tell time down to about 30 seconds without exception, I also never mess up the hands; something else I hear happens a lot. I own 3 talking watches, but just have never been satisfied with them. Either if in a quiet environment you have to annoy everyone around you, or hold it up to your ear, and if in a loud situation you cant hear it at all, plus they don’ tend to have that many features capable of what can be in a digital watch. Swatch just came out with a new watch that uses vibrations to tell and set the time, I’m considering it as they don’ make the Seiko braille watch anymore. My ultimate watch will probably always be a dream. something that talks but can also communicate through vibrations has a volume control for the voice speed control for voice, many features including atomic clock sync, water proof is a must, multiple timers stop watches alarms date yes all of this is very possible in main stream watches.
